Lu’s Main Street Café – Blanca

After visiting and hiking at the Great Sand Dunes National Park it was time to brush the sand off and find a spot for lunch. There isn’t too much around the park so I decided to head to the next town to the east, Blanca. That’s where I found Lu’s Main Street Café.

If you have read this blog in the past you know two signs that I can’t pass up are Café and Diner. Well Lu’s caught my eye right away.

From the outside, Lu’s looks like a classic café but on the inside it has a very fresh, clean and modern look to it. The hardwood floors and wood paneled bar all looked really nice. It felt like walking into a comforting cabin.

The Food

Lu’s is cross between Mexican food and café style American fare. I ordered the bacon double cheeseburger and a side of curly fries. The burger came out quick and was really well cooked. The bacon was also cooked perfectly. The burger also came with lettuce, tomato and onion to top with.

I really liked the curly fries. They had a nice seasoning and were plentiful. Overall it was a great stop after an exhausting hike to get refueled. If you find yourself in Blanca, give Lu’s a shot.

Help Me Help a Small Business

Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
