Silver Llama – Leadville

Silver Llama

After my first trip to Leadville, Colorado and a hike at the Timberline Lake Trail I was looking to explore the town a bit. Luckily, I ran into a couple of locals on the trail and they suggested the Silver Llama for lunch. The Silver Llama started as a breakfast pastry spot and has expanded to serve lunch as well.

It was a busy spot and lunch took a bit to get out but they had indoor and outdoor seating and it was a beautiful day so I enjoyed the time relaxing on the patio overlooking the very quaint downtown area of Leadville.

The Food

The Silver Llama isn’t the typical place that I stop. Their menu was very creative and they had both breakfast and lunch options. I decided to try the Spring Brie sandwich. The Spring Brie was a Brie, turkey, bacon, apple slices, raspberry preserves (they offered me fig when I went and I choose that) on artisan bread. The sandwich was grilled too.

This was a really good sandwich! It was a perfect mix of sweet and savory with the apples and fig preserves adding the sweet and the bacon and turkey adding the savory. It was also nice to have the bacon and apples to add a crispness and crunch to the sandwich. The bread was also delcious. I really enjoyed this!

The sandwich came with a side and I picked home fries. The fries were lightly fried making some sides crispy and the centers nice and soft. All in all a really nice meal. If you find yourself looking for a place to eat in Leadville, give the Silver Llama a shot.

Finding the Silver Llama

The Silver Llama is located at 615 Harrison Ave (Rte 24) which is the main strip through the Leadville downtown area. There is some street parking on the side streets and a couple of public parking areas but no parking directly at the restaurant.

I have added this restaurant and all of the restaurants I have been to on my interactive map that you can find here. If you have a suggestion for a restaurant or any comments feel free to email me at fatmanlittletrails@gmail.com or you can follow me on any of the below social media platforms. Bon Appetit!

Help Me Help a Small Business

Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
