Peak to Peak
I have posted some fun hikes to see the Fall Colors in Colorado but I know that not everyone has the time or ability but still want to enjoy the experience. So a really easy way to see some Fall Colors might be the Peak to Peak highway. I took the Peak to Peak (Hwy 72) from Ward to Nederland today and it was pretty special.
The Drive
I started the trip on the Peak to Peak from Left Hand Canyon right around ward. There were some pretty amazing visuals and some spots on the side of the road to pull off and enjoy the views.
Continuing down the 11 mile stretch and each bend in the road revealed a new segment of beautiful yellow and gold trees mixed in a forest of green.
If you are going to do this drive be very careful though. Cars and people were all over the side of the road and some people were walking in the roads to get the best view. Please drive slowly and don’t look into the trees until you are safely on the side of the road!
If you are looking for a quick and beautiful drive to spend some time enjoying the fall colors that is relatively close to the Denver Metro area and really close to the Boulder area, then Peak to Peak might be a good spot to enjoy.
