The Christmas Hike 2021

The Christmas Hike

Merry Christmas everyone! Last year I was able to take a Christmas Hike for the first time and decided to write about it in the aptly named blog, “The Christmas Hike”. In that one I used my literary brilliance to turn “T’was the night before Christmas” into a story about hiking. This year I figured I would ruin another classic! This time, Let it Snow. Make sure to sing along while reading it!

Let it Snow

Oh the weather outside is Sunny
and no, this isn’t funny
Since there’s no flakes to show
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

It doesn’t show signs of starting
and my spikes begin their rusting
the temps aren’t even down that low
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

When we make out to the trail
just hoping that it might storm
can’t see my breath when I exhale
this Christmas Hike’s way to warm

Well, The boots never need a drying
but at least, I keep on trying
as long as there’s trails to go
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

A view of a wide expanse of pine trees leading to some mountains in the distance from my Christmas Hike. There are a couple of small patches of snow over the miles visible.
The view from My Christmas Hike in 2021. It got into the 50’s with barely a dusting of snow around the trail.
