The Jasper Lake hike from the Hessie Trailhead is a popular hike for hikers, anglers, and campers alike and has some tremendous views.
The Jim Creek Trail near Winter Park is a nice hike through the national forest that features a creek and waterfall.
The mind can play tricks at times but no more often than on a trail you have hiked before. Selective Amnesia must be real, for me at least!
