Wingers
After a long, hot day of exploring Dinosaur National Monument, I was ready for some good food and to get rehydrated. The closest town that I found was Vernal, which is also where I found Wingers. Wingers was a very popular and busy so I knew I was in the right spot. The bar had a sports bar feel while the restaurant gave off a more family vibe. To avoid waiting for a table, I bellied up to the bar and prepared for a great meal.
The Food!
Now to the important part…The Food! I bet you can guess what Wingers serves in the name. That’s right, Chicken Wings! However, they have a really large menu including burgers and sandwiches, pasta dishes, Southwestern grill, apps and even rice bowls. I am a traditionalist though, and had to get my hands on some of the wings!
Popcorn Starter
Wingers did one of my favorite things, and gave me some popcorn as soon as I sat down. If you go to a Mexican restaurant, they give chips and salsa, other restaurants give bread, so can we make popcorn a thing all over?
The Wings!
Next up were the wings and I had high expectations. The first thing I noticed were that these wings were enormous! Way bigger than I am used to, which was great because I was hungry. They are cooked really well with a crispy breading and the meat was perfect. The traditional sauce was a little more sweet than some and had a little spice but I wouldn’t call them hot. They were actually really refreshing and I liked that sweet with a hint of spice combo. I was impressed and my expectations were definitely met!
Rosemary Garlic Fries
I wouldn’t be much of a food critic if I didn’t try out the Rosemary Garlic fries. So, of course, I did try them because I am nothing if not professional. They were really good. The rosemary really came through as the strongest flavor. The fries were also cooked really well, with a crisper outside and softer inside. I enjoyed them but couldn’t eat them all after the giant wings!
Overall I had a really good meal at Wingers. It was great post hike and gave me the energy to keep the road trip going on to the next stop. If you find yourself in Vernal, make sure to give Wingers a shot!

Wingers is located at 2075 U.S Hwy 40 Suite A in Vernal, Utah. It is in a shopping center with a good parking and just off of the main road.
