Garfinkels – Vail

After my hike to Pitkin Lake I decided to head into Vail to grab some lunch. I haven’t spent much time in Vail but ended up in the Lionshead Village area and a cool sports bar, Garfinkels.

Garfinkels has a nice sized bar and a really large outdoor patio. There is parking available in the main parking structure in Lionshead village which is right across the street.

I took up a spot at the bar and asked the bartender what he recommended. He told me to go with the Prime Rib French Dip. It was sliced prime rib with sautéed onions and swiss cheese and au jus.

The sandwich was really good. The prime rib was cooked really well. It was tender and melt in the mouth. The onions flavor came through even after being dipped in the Au Jus. My favorite part was that the bread didn’t become a soggy mess when dipped. After a dip I could still take a bite and keep most of the meat and onions in the sandwich!

I was worried that being Vail it might get expensive but I got this meal for just $13 which was a nice relief as well!

If you find yourself in the Vail area be sure to give Garfinkels a shot.

I have added them and all of the restaurants I have visited on my interactive map that you can find here. If you have any suggestions on places to eat or any comments feel free to email me at or you can follow me on any of the below social media platforms.
