19th St. Diner
Ok, for those of you who know me you know I can’t resist a diner. Put an old style pink sign above it and there is no way I won’t stop so I was excited to see the 19th St. Diner in Glenwood Springs after my Mushroom Rock hike on my first visit there.
The diner had two sections. The first section was a traditional 1950’s style diner and the back end was more designed like a sports bar and that is where I got a seat.

One feature I liked about the 19th St. Diner is that they supplied me a lunch date! About half of the tables in the back room had these giant stuffed animals on one side of the table. I’m assuming it was for social distancing and she didn’t have much to talk about but she seemed happy the whole meal!

The Food
Now to the important part, the Food! As is my custom I always ask if there is a house special or anything they are known for. The server told me that they had a special on meatloaf and I was sold immediately.
This meatloaf was thick! I would say this piece was about two inches thick and it had a lot of meat in it and wasn’t just stuffed with breadcrumbs. They were also generous with the onions that gave both a nice crunchy texture and some good flavor. It was topped with a red sauce that added a nice sweetness to the savory meat.
On the side they had mashed potato’s with a good brown gravy and green beans. The taters had a nice consistency and had some chunks in them and were not whipped completely smooth which I liked. The beans were cooked with onions and chopped red pepper with them as well.

This was really good and really hit the spot. It reminded me of the meatloaf that my mom made growing up and really set the tone for the rest of the day! If you find yourself in Glenwood Springs, give the 19th St. Diner a shot!

Help Me Help a Small Business
Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
