Alfonso’s
After my hike in the Raton area, I was really struggling to find a place to stop for lunch. I had found a couple of locally owned places on Google but they were closed during the week when I arrived. I was about to give up and stopped for some fuel and that is when I found Alfonso’s.

I’m not really sure if I found it or if the giant pictures on the gas station window found me. Either way I went in for a very tasty lunch. There is a small area where you can eat in the building and also the food is available from the drive thru.
The Food!
Now for the important part….the Food! After seeing those pictures on the window while I was already hungry from the hike I was really ready to eat! I ordered the burrito meal and was very pleasantly surprised. While a lot of burritos you order are full of fillers like rice and beans, these burritos had a huge amount of shredded beef. The beef was complimented with onions and peppers as well. It was extremely juicy and really delicious.

The burritos had a really good weight to them. I was really surprised and excited about how much meat came in each. Rice and refried beans were served on the side to finish off the really good lunch. This was a great road trip stop to keep me fueled for the rest of my journey.
Finding Alfonso’s in Raton
Alfonso’s is located at 412 Clayton Road in Raton. It shares the building with a gas station and has a few parking spots right in front and also has a drive thru. The restaurant is a short distance from I-25 for some easy access.
I have added this restaurant and all of the restaurants I have been to on my interactive map that you can find here. If you have a suggestion for a restaurant or any comments feel free to email me at fatmanlittletrails@gmail.com or you can follow me on any of the below social media platforms. Bon Appetit!
Help Me Help a Small Business
Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
