Tony’s Diner – Trinidad

Tony’s Diner in Trinidad

For those of you who are longtime readers of this website you know there are three words that I can’t resist on a sign. Diner, Cafe, and Grandma’s. You can not find better food on a road trip than if you see one of those signs. Plus, you find some of the best local people to talk to if you find a good diner! Tony’s Diner in Trinidad, Colorado had me like a moth to a flame. It was a traditional, low key diner serving all of the favorites. Plus, there was a really fun and energetic staff and it was good time all around.

The Food!

But now to the important part…the food! Like every good diner, Tony’s Diner serves breakfast all day and has lunch and dinner options as well. They also have an extensive menu that includes omelets and breakfast burritos for breakfast and burgers, steak, shrimp and seafood specials. They also offer pretty much everything in between!

Side Salad at Tony’s Diner

I started out with the side salad because I can be healthy every once in a while! The side salad was actually really good. A ton of crisp and fresh veggies and they stuffed a lot into the small bowl. It was also nice and cold which was perfect after a long day of travels and hikes. I really enjoyed it.

Chicken Fried Steak from Tony’s Diner

Up next was one of my favorites, the Chicken Fried Steak! The steak came with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and some toasted bread. The steak breading was light and crispy, not super thick so I could actually taste the meat which I really liked! The steak was really good and the sausage gravy made the perfect topper. Then again, when isn’t sausage gravy a perfect topper!

The potatoes were smooth and mixed well with even more gravy. The bread, which I thought was garlic turned out to be a nice piece of toasted French bread (or similar) that was aslo really good. Finished it off with a side of corn and it turned into one of my all time favorite guilty pleasure meals done to perfection. If you find yourself in Trinidad and are looking for a nice meal and an enjoyable atmosphere, give Tony’s Diner a shot!

Help Me Help a Small Business

Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
