Carthers Roadhouse – Del Norte, CO
After a hike around Del Norte I was looking for a nice place to stop in and grab a meal. I didn’t have to look far to find Carthers Roadhouse. I love it when restaurants use older buildings and make them there own and that is exactly what Carthers has done. They have kept that motor/americana feel to match the old Motor Co building.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted with another throwback to the auto industry with a classic Chevy in the lobby. I knew this was the right place as soon I walked through those doors. But décor doesn’t make the restaurant, for that we need to check the food!

The Food!
Now to the important part…The Food! Carthers Roadhouse has a nice menu with all of my favorite food groups like hot dogs, brats, burgers and sandwiches. They offers specialty dogs and daily specials as well.
The meal starts right at Carthers as they bring a bowl of popcorn to the table to enjoy before you order your food. This was awesome as I was extremely hungry when got there after a day of hiking! I also think that more restaurants should follow suit with the free popcorn!

For my meal, I ordered the El Camino burger which comes with bacon, onions, and BBQ sauce. This was a good burger. The meat was seasoned really well and the bacon wasn’t too crisp. The flavors melded together nicely and it was really enjoyable.

I also had a side of pasta salad which was cool and refreshing. It was mostly pasta with some carrots mixed in as well. A tangy dressing on the pasta gave it a little zip to go with the cool refreshing flavors.
Overall it was a really good meal in Del Norte! I really like the ambiance of Carthers and the food was really good. Plus, I loved that popcorn! If you find yourself in Del Norte, make sure to give Carthers a shot!
