Mansker Station Pizza – Walden, CO

Mansker Station Pizza and Pub

I always look at the signs to find the best local places to eat after a hike but for the first time a sign actually changed my plans. The sign for Mansker Station was simple. It just said Pizza and Beer. That was enough for me to ditch my plans to go camping after a long hike and make my way over for what the sign promised.

Mansker Station is just outside of the town of Walden on Highway 14 and is a wood building with several historic pieces on the property. They have events such as live music throughout the summer and it was pretty packed the day we went. The restaurant does close for the winter season but the day that I decided to choose the warm pizza over a cold tent something told me that I made the right decision.

The Food!

Now to the important part…the Food! Mansker Station features some really delicious wood fire pizzas, appetizers, salads and desserts. The pizza tasted really good after a long day on the trails. Mansker had a few specialty pizzas and the option to build your own. I decided to go with a ham and pineapple. There were huge chunks of pineapple and ham and the perfect mix of cheese and sauce. I really enjoyed the crust that had a bit of garlic flavor and was nice and big, just the way I like it!

My friend who joined me had some dietary concerns and Mansker was awesome. They made up a cheeseless veggie pizza for her and she really enjoyed it. As hungry as we were, the pizza’s were big enough that we both had some to bring home, although it was good enough that it didn’t even make past the car ride home.

I really enjoyed the pizza but wish that I would have made it on a night that had one of the cool events. It looks like I will have to make another trip next summer to get the full experience at Mansker Station. If you find yourself in Walden, make sure to give them a shot!

Help Me Help a Small Business

Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
