Lindey’s Prime Steakhouse
If you are looking for steak in Montana, it is hard to go wrong with Lindey’s Prime Steakhouse. Lindey’s opened in 1980 and is located on the east bay of Seeley Lake. It remains family owned to this day.
One of the things that makes Lindey’s so special is the menu. The menu was presented to our table when we sat down but instead of folding or laminated paper, the menu came on a stand. It was basically 3 items. The Special Sirloin, The Prime Sirloin, or the Prime Chopped Sirloin. These options also come with hashbrown potatoes, garlic bread, a side salad, and were supposed to come with pickled watermelon rind but they were out when I went.
This is a place I can get behind. the wood paneling, wood chairs and tables, and not having to make too many decisions!

The Food!
I know you will be surprised but I decided to go with the Sirloin! The Lindey’s Special Sirloin to be exact. I was in a larger group so we also decided to throw in some sauteed mushrooms to go along with all the other sides. Plus, the meal came with a side salad so it was a ton of food.
The Side Salad
Every once in a while I need to prove to the world that I can eat healthy. So I wanted to point out that a side salad came with the hunk of steak and that I really enjoyed it. The salad at Lindey’s was really fresh and came with a house dressing. Lots of lettuce and few tomatoes to get the stomach ready for the main course!

The Steak!
Okay enough about the salad, lets get to the important stuff…The Steak! The special Sirloin came out as full steaks and then were cut table side to the sizes we ordered. That ended up with two 8 ounce pieces on each plate. The steaks were cooked perfectly with a nice flavorful crust and wonderfully juicy, melt in your mouth center.

I really enjoyed this steak. it was super flavorful and just as good as you would think a steak from a place that only serves steaks would be. The seasoning was a great mix of salt to match the richness of the meat. On it’s own, each bit was perfect, but if you really want to send your mouth to heaven, try a mushroom with each bite of steak. Simply divine.
The Garlic bread was really good, especially when dipped in the sauce and juices of the steak and the mushrooms. The potatoes were nice as well. More like soft hash browns the potatoes also were perfect when soaked with a bit of the drippings. Everything was really designed to compliment the whole meal and experience but the star was definitely the 16 ounces of sirloin perfection! If you find yourself around Seeley Lake, this is an absolutely must try!
