The Gardens of Taxco – West Hollywood

The Gardens of Taxco

West Hollywood has a lot of options when it comes to food. After a long few days of hiking thought, sometimes you just want to grab some comfort food. That is what I found at The Gardens of Taxco. It was founded back in 1971 and having a restaurant that has been around that long, you know it has to be good! When I popped in to pick up my food, there was a line of delivery drivers outside and some locals waiting. This confirmed it to me that it was the right place to be!

The Food!

Now to the important part…The Food! I believe the locals when they like a place but I like to try it for myself. The Gardens of Taxco have a fairly traditional Mexican menu filled with tacos, enchiladas, chicken, beef, and shrimp options. I asked the folks behind the counter and they suggested the steak enchiladas in Salsa Verde. Wow, I am glad they did because I really liked it.

I got the enchiladas back to the hotel and opened them up and the amazing aroma filled the entire room. There were huge chunks of steak inside the enchiladas. The meat was really flavored well and I enjoyed it. The Salsa Verde had a sweet taste to it that followed with hint of spice that balanced it all really well. There was enough cheese to cover the enchiladas without overwhelming the flavor of the meat and sauce. This was some of the better Mexican food that I have had in awhile.

If you find yourself in West Hollywood and are looking for a great place for some really good Mexican food, give The Gardens of Taxco a shot!
