Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge
When looking for a spot to eat on my first trip to Cannon Beach, I figured it is hard to go wrong with a landmark. The Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge has been in business for over 80 years in the northern Oregon coastal town.
They have a lovely patio for the good weather days, and full bar and menu that should have something for everyone. I was a visitor, but the bar area that I sat in seemed like it was full of locals enjoying an evening as well as some tourists getting to know the area for the first time. And everyone was having a great time.,
The Food!
You know a restaurant can’t last 80 years without having a great menu so it is time to talk about the important part…The Food! The driftwood menu is full of steak and seafood, salads, burgers, appetizers and more. I was on the end of a road trip and had been eating pretty poorly all day so decided to eat a little on the healthier side with the Steak Salad.
The Steak Salad is typically Ribeye and tenderloin tips, over a bed of mixed greens, tomatoes and blue cheese crumbles with a blue cheese dressing. I went with the salad but skipped out on the Blue Cheese and instead decided on a Honey Mustard dressing. The steak was delicious. Small chunks of perfectly cooked and seasoned steak over a large bed of greens. I loved the steak and the greens and tomatoes were very fresh. It was a lighter and very refreshing dinner and was delicious.
If you find yourself in Cannon Beach, make sure to check out the Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge. 80 years of serving food in one spot makes them a staple. Plus, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was excellent.

The Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge is located on 179 N Hemlock Street in Cannon Beach, Oregon. The Driftwood is open Monday – Thursday from 11:30am – 9pm and Friday – Sunday from 11:30am – 10pm.
