Royal Robbins Summer ’26 Women’s Review

My closet has undergone a massive overhaul over the past two years!  In an intentional effort to streamline my wardrobe, I recently parted ways with almost everything from 2025 and earlier. Keeping only what truly aligns with my personal style and active lifestyle. Royal Robbins is one of the few brands that survived that purge and still stands strong in my collection. Very few companies manage to strike the perfect balance between timeless silhouettes and the rugged durability required for the great outdoors. However, Royal Robbins effortlessly continues to  excel in both.

Recently, the team sent over a few pieces from their Spring/Summer ‘26 collection to put to the test. I was so excited to get my hands on a mixture of their casual lifestyle pieces and high-performance technical apparel. Spoiler alert: these newest designs absolutely live up to the high standard I’ve come to expect from the brand. Now, let’s dive into how they performed!

Royal Robbins Salathe Sunbeam Hoodie

Sun hoodies are my ride-or-die piece of outdoor gear. I practically live in them year-round! But let’s keep it real here, finding a sun hoodie that actually keeps you cool when the heat is on is a total game changer. The Salathe is ridiculously lightweight weighing in at only 5 oz.   It has easily become my new go-to for cycling and hiking and is perfect for those days when you need dual defense against both the blazing sun and bugs.

There are so many things I love about the Salathe, but can we talk about the hood first for a second?! As someone who practically lives in her baseball caps (GO PHILS!), finding a hood that actually fits over a brim without pulling back or blocking my view is a miracle and this one nails it perfectly. Even better, it’s packed with their innovative MPT technology for chemical-free bug protection. Instead of relying on toxic coatings that wash out over time, MPT uses a tightly engineered mechanical weave to physically block mosquitoes from biting through. It is a total game-changer for those hot, humid trails where bugs thrive and eat you alive. When the sun really starts beating down, you get UPF 40 coverage and the deep front zipper lets you easily dump heat on the move.

As far as the fit goes, it’s spot on. I usually wear a Medium in women’s tops and this gives me just the right amount of room to move. It stays super breezy and keeps the air flowing, which is exactly what I want when I’m working hard outside. It doesn’t hurt that it’s super cute too! This is just an extremely well-made and well-thought out piece of gear that completely eliminates having to choose between comfort and protection.

Royal Robbins Women’s Truckee Pant

Don’t judge a book by its cover with these pants! While they look super cute and polished at first glance, make no mistake – they have some serious grit for rough, rocky trails! The Royal Robbins Truckee Pant hits that perfect sweet spot of being tough as nails while still giving you amazing stretch that moves with you instead of restricting you. These have easily become my new go-to this season.

I’ve taken these all over the rocky Northeast this Spring, including a trip to Acadia National Park, and they handled it like a charm. Because I’m naturally a bit clumsy (okay, a lot!), anything that keeps both me and my pants completely scratch-free on the trail is heaven-sent. My favorite details/features are at the bottom hem: there’s a heavy-duty, reinforced kick plate to handle scuffs from rocks and brush. Plus, hidden bungee cords in the ankles that you can cinch right around your boots to keep out dirt and trail debris. The deep drop-in pockets are great for extra storage and there’s even a hidden zippered pocket on the right side.

As far as the fit goes, you will definitely want to check out the size chart before ordering! I’m a true size 6 in clothing and had to size up to a 10 for the perfect fit.  Even though the waist was a little roomy, the waistband significantly helped, as it has a secure, fixed design with a snap closure and an internal safety fly so everything stays perfectly in place.  It gave me just the right amount of room through the hips and thighs to move comfortably without looking baggy. They are relaxed enough for a long, grueling day on the trail, but still look good enough to wear out for brews and burgers afterward!

Royal Robbins Oasis Short Sleeve in Balsam

I got to swap out my technical trail gear for this effortless, laidback button-down short sleeve shirt! The Oasis is basically made for all things warm weather – everyday life, travel, relaxing around camp, or just hanging with the homies on a hot, humid afternoon in North Carolina drinking faux cocktails for a photoshoot! It is crafted from a super lightweight, sustainably farmed cotton blend that feels like a breath of fresh air against your skin when the sun is beating down on you.

The details on this shirt are just beautiful, especially the delicate embroidery that gives it a crisp, high-contrast look without feeling too busy. The teal really made those details pop! Because Royal Robbins always thinks about utility, they tucked a tiny, secure zipper pocket right into the side seam – perfect for slipping in a card or key without ruining the clean lines of the shirt. Best of all, thanks to the wood-derived TENCEL™ Modal fibers, it is incredibly soft, cooling, and quick-drying. It’s the ultimate proof that you can look classic and feminine while still being ready to tackle an outdoor adventure.

As far as the fit goes, it is beautifully relaxed yet still runs totally true to size. I went with my usual size Medium. I love that it gives me a comfortable, airy feel without looking boxy or losing its shape. It has a classic cut that looks great, completely buttoned up or worn open over a tank top. It continually brings a fun, breezy energy to any outfit!

Even though I loved every single piece from this Spring and Summer collection, I had to save the best for last! I believe every Summer wardrobe needs those effortless, throw-on pieces that make you look instantly put together, whether you just stepped out into major Northeast humidity or finished up a long trail hike. My absolute holy grail dress of the season is the Camino Pucker. And gosh, is it a gorgeous dress!

This one was just so incredibly easy to love. It completely bridges the gap between active travel and casual, everyday style. Made from an ultra-soft fabric blend, it is super airy, moves beautifully, and dries in a flash when the heat really cranks up. The subtle puckered texture also keeps it from clinging to you. Some of my favorite features are the deep hand pockets, the hidden side zip pocket for keeping things secure, and the high-low hem which gives a little extra coverage. It’s the ultimate fuss-free outfit for packing light while looking crisp and chic.

As far as the fit goes, I went with my usual size Medium and it was perfect. It gives me plenty of room to eat, drink, and be merry without feeling restricted, while still looking totally feminine. The overall shape is incredibly versatile, and the tie belt is ideal because you can cinch your waist to create a more flattering silhouette. It’s a great option if you want to switch up the look from relaxed to something a bit more tailored in no time!

Wrap Up

Whenever I think of Royal Robbins, I think of multifunctionality and quality – without fail, every single time. This Spring/Summer lineup reminded me exactly why they survived my massive closet purge in the first place. It’s so rare to find a brand that can excel in hardcore, trail-ready pieces and then turn around and design a chic, effortless travel outfit in the next breath, all without cutting corners on durability or style. They really understand how to make versatile clothing that fits seamlessly into a busy, active lifestyle.

At the end of the day, Royal Robbins proves that being outside doesn’t mean sacrificing your personal style. Whether you’re hiking a major mountain trek, hanging out by a campfire, catching a flight or  settling in for a long car ride, or just living your everyday best life, this is the kind of clothing you’ll actually want to live in all season long – and you’ll look stylish doing so! They truly delivered another amazing collection and I know these staples will be on heavy rotation for many Springs and Summers to come.
