Canyon Steak and Waffle House – Moab

Canyon Steak and Waffle House

After waking up to see the sunrise at Mesa Arch I needed some fuel before heading back to some hiking. I made my way back to Moab and to the Canyon Steak and Waffle house. I had seen it the night before when I went to the Moab Diner across the street and was looking forward to try it out.

The Canyon Steak and Waffle House had that classic diner look to it. It shared a parking lot with the Hotel Moab and the parking lot was filling up quickly so I figured I was in the right place.

The Food

While Steak and Waffles were on the sign the Biscuits and Gravy breakfast had a giant circle around it on the menu. Early in the morning if you circle something, I’m probably going to order it!

The dish was served with two biscuits covered with gravy, two eggs which I ordered scrambled, bacon or sausage and hashbrowns.

The eggs were nice and fluffy and tasted good. Like eggs are. The bacon wasn’t very thick but it was cooked really well and had a good smoked Applewood flavor to it. The biscuits and gravy had big chunks of sausage in the gravy and a nice peppery flavor. The gravy was very smooth and wasn’t one that you had to chew because it is too thick.

What I liked is the biscuits had a bit of a harder crust to them so they held up to the gravy but the inside was nice and soft so it would start to soak up the gravy as soon as you cut into them.

I really enjoyed this breakfast and felt like it fueled me for the entire day. If you find yourself in Moab make sure you give Canyon Steak and Waffle House a shot.

Help Me Help a Small Business

Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
