Today is a bit of a special post for me. This is post number 350 since I started this website on April 20th, 2020. So that means in 553 days I have provided 350 different pieces of unique content for all of the readers out there. Notice I said unique and not good. I figure that covers my basis. As the old saying goes though, a picture is worth a thousand words and you are only as good as your last post. In my case that was my first time being seen on TV as the FatMan.
350
Before we get to the TV part, I wanted to do a quick breakdown of the first 350 post. In my previous 349 published post I have written a total of 312,909 words. With the average of 500 words to a page in a book that would make a book that was 625 pages long! (Any book publishers follow me?)
I have also posted thousands of photos on my posts so far. These range from amazing to the best picture you have ever seen and most can be seen in the galleries at the bottom of each hike page.
I have featured over 100 restaurants in 6 states. I have also reviewed over 160 hikes in 7 states and 21 counties in Colorado. You can’t do that many hikes without the proper equipment so I have also reviewed 12 products and done 12 interviews with experts as part of my getting started guides.
And where would I be without my Ramblings. The Fatman Ramblings are my thoughts and blogs about my journey and some of my most popular posts. I have written 42 of these posts and it all got started with Screw it, I’m Trying.
I even started a Podcast and a YouTube Channel to add different styles of content…and also to write even more!
Video Killed the Radio Star
So all of that led to my first television appearance on the Kathie J Show. Which conveniently happened right as I was writing this 350th post retrospective. It all kind of fit in place as an eight minute recap to all of the hard work I have put into this journey of transformation and self discovery. And without any further ado…
Step By Step
I told you about all the work in creating the content but what about the work on the trails? Just like the TV appearance came as I writing this retrospective 350th post, so did my 1,000th mile hiked. I currently sit at 1001 miles and 180,838 feet of elevation gain over 175 hikes in about a year and a half.
That is a lot of time and tread. But it was the most valuable time I have spent in years. A journey that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Well maybe a sponsorship or two…but mostly I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
As Kathie says in the above video, I am a new person.
