Doc’s Roadhouse
After my first trip to the Winter Park area to hike the Jim Creek Trail, I was looking to explore a bit. Even though it was summer I wanted to get a bit of a feel of Winter Park and headed over to the village and eventually to Doc’s Roadhouse.
The village is a great place that is similar to other ski town villages with several walkable shops and restaurants. The Winter Park village connects from the gondolas and entertainment section. The village has several restaurants with indoor or outdoor seating, outdoor shops and rental spots. There is a great vibe to walking through the village as everyone is there for adventure and a great time and that is what led me to Doc’s, which is located right near the popular gondolas.
The Food
Now to the important part…the Food! Doc’s Roadhouse has a bit of a smaller food menu with a a handful of appetizers, “sammies”, and salads. I decided to go with the Shredder Burger. The Shredder featured beef from local Fitch Ranch, smoked sharp cheddar, a beefsteak tomato on a brioche bun.

The burger was really good and super juicy. It was also a really nice size burger patty. So many resort burgers get skimpy but not at Doc’s. The veggies were also really fresh and it was a really enjoyable burger. I also really enjoyed the seasoning on the fries. They tasted like they may have had that seasoning that is reserved for the fancy curly fry variety.
Overall, it was a really good burger and meal. It wasn’t the fastest meal, as Doc’s was a bit on mountain time and there was no rushing but who is ever in a rush at a resort! If you are in Winter Park give Doc’s Roadhouse a shot.
Finding Doc’s Roadhouse
Doc’s is located in the center of Winter Park Village near the gondola. There is a bit of parking around the village that is available but it is limited. The have indoor and outdoor seating available.
I have added this restaurant and all of the restaurants I have been to on my interactive map that you can find here. If you have a suggestion for a restaurant or any comments feel free to email me at fatmanlittletrails@gmail.com or you can follow me on any of the below social media platforms. Bon Appetit!
Help Me Help a Small Business
Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
