Old Town Pub Steamboat Springs
On my first trip to Steamboat Springs I decided to get a little bit of history by stopping in to the Old Town Pub. The Old Town Pub building was built in 1904 as a hotel. Since then it has been a post office, dance hall, grocery store and more. Since 1969 it has been a restaurant and currently is the Old Town Pub.

One thing I love about the old buildings is some of the impressive old architecture. I don’t know if the ceiling of the Old Town Pub was original but I loved it. It was a tin (or metal) ceiling which perfectly complimented the rich wood of the building.

A restaurant can only go so far on the aesthetic though so it is time to focus on the important part…the Food!
The Food
At the Old Town Pub I decided to try “The Local” even though it was my first time in town. I guess Steamboat just makes everyone feel like a local! The burger came on a brioche bun with Swiss cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and avocado. Lettuce, tomato, and onion were included as the veggies. I also got the fries on the side.

This burger was cooked really well. It was really juicy and flavorful. The bacon was crisp which worked well with the softness of the avocado. The burger was pretty big and it was a little tough to get a bite. The avocado also made it a touch slick with some of the mushrooms and swiss sliding around. I don’t judge food on how easy it is to eat though, I judge on flavor and this was a really good tasting burger!
The fries were really crispy on the outside with a soft center. Almost like the were double fried or something but they too were good. Overall, a really nice meal. If you find your self in Steamboat and are looking for a good meal mixed in with a bit of history give Old Town Pub a shot!
Finding the Old Town Pub in Steamboat Springs
The Old Town Pub is located at 600 Lincoln Avenue in Steamboat Springs. It is right on the main strip off of US-40 in the downtown area. There is some street parking around but you will probably have to walk a little bit to get to the restaurant.
I have added this restaurant and all of the restaurants I have been to on my interactive map that you can find here. If you have a suggestion for a restaurant or any comments feel free to email me at fatmanlittletrails@gmail.com or you can follow me on any of the below social media platforms. Bon Appetit!
Help Me Help a Small Business
Unlike some other bloggers, I never ask for discounted or free meals on my site. I think it is important, especially now, to support our local restaurants and small business owners. It does get expensive though and I am just a small business myself so if you are willing to help me out by making a donation below I would greatly appreciate it and be able to continue to bring you the content you love!
